Illinois Business Developments

Illinois is the most populous markets in the Midwest and home to more than two thousand corporate headquarters, a thriving entrepreneurial scene, and more than 1.2 million small enterprises, has all the resources that global firms require to flourish in the modern business. From the world-class infrastructure that connects companies with customers and suppliers to highly talented workforce in various industries as well as a modern manufacturing base, Illinois is a leader in many areas including advanced and sustainable energy, agribusiness, IT life sciences logistics for transportation.

Illinois has witnessed a significant increase in foreign investment over the last few years. Countries such as Britain, Japan, Germany and China were among the most invested in Illinois in 2023. By that time, the amount reached over USD $13.2 billion in agriculture, manufacturing and other sectors in Illinois alone.

Since 2014, over $1 billion in incentives were distributed under Illinois Reimagining Energy and Vehicles program to companies providing electric vehicles and renewable energy production. The program was announced last month. DCEO also rewarded PsiQuantum Manufacturing with an incentive package worth more than 200 million dollars for their new modern facility in East Alton.

Governor JB Pritzker was joined by representatives from Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network and local officials today in Chicago for the launch of CZ Biohub Chicago - a cutting-edge research hub in the forefront of research.
